- The rise of alternative investments in private markets : With recent news and negative public markets sentiment, what can investors do to improve returns and reduce risk? There is strong evidence suggesting that institutions, UHNW and family offices have been reallocating into alternative investments from public markets.
- China property woes in the news a much bigger shadow than in reality: S&P estimates that loans at risk from mortgage boycotts are 2.5% of all mortgages or 0.5% of all loan amounts. Price correction in property market is expected to be 6-7%, in line with the government's direction to cool the property sector and curb leverage.
- China's contrarian economic indicators to the rest of the world: Central bank of China (PBOC) has adopted stance to ease rates while the world is tightening. China currency control measures have historically shown that it channels its liquidity into the financial markets and property.
