Asset tokenisation is increasingly moving beyond experimentation and into institutional deployment.

At a recent industry session co-hosted by SDAX, OneMeta Assets and the Digital Assets Association, industry leaders examined what defines “institutional readiness” today.

A key insight from our Chief Executive Officer, Sunil Mascarenhas, is that tokenisation does not alter the underlying investment thesis. Rather, it modernises the infrastructure through which assets are issued, distributed and administered.

In Asia, adoption has been deliberate rather than speculative, gaining traction where regulated platforms reinforce existing market discipline through governance, transparency and clear reporting.

By enabling the structured issuance of real-world assets, such platforms provide the credibility that fiduciaries and investment committees require.

Technology may enable the infrastructure, but governance and regulation are what sustain trust. In private markets, trust must scale before volume, ensuring a disciplined transition toward the next generation of capital markets.
